I Neil Gillies, Sergeant of Police in the Colony of Hong Kong on leave and at present residing in Bannockburn, and now on the eve of my departure for Hong Kong to resume my duties, do hereby declare that in the event of my death occurring at home or in the Colony of Hong Kong, all my monies and personal effects are to be equally divided between my Mother, Agnes Gillies, Phebe Gillies, and my illegitimate son Neil Gillies, so help me God. In the event of any such thing occurring, enquiries are to be made of Captain Superintendent of Police, Hong Kong.
